I’ve been trying some “grocery bag” paintings en plein air and then working directly from those little studies to do a larger painting. It’s double fun. It keeps me focused on the essence of what I saw instead of me getting lost in photo details.

Thank you, Steven.  I always wish spring would hang around longer, but then I say the same for every season because each is full of wonderful subjects that I never have time to paint.

The bright light in both of these is so cheerful!  I agree with you that spring is much to short to paint everything that one would like.
