Announcing the Wildacres Art Workshops for 2018. Below are the classes that will be offered, the teachers, and the tuition.
WEEK I: July 15-21, 2018
--Mixed Media, Paper, Images and Collage, with Elena DeLaVille
--Creative Watercolor Techniques, with Billie Shelburn ($650)
--Plein Air Painting, with Bob Nulf ($650)
--Studio Painting (Oil and Pastel), with Greg Barnes ($650)
--Photography: Exploring the Natural World, with Michael O’Neill
--Pottery: Form, Finishes and Fire, with Annette Sidner and Seth Barendse ($700 + lab fee) --Printmaking: Monotype with Solvent Transfer Process, with Patrick Lindhardt ($650 + lab fee) *--Textile Exploration: Weaving, Felting and Coiling, with Edwina Bringle ($700 + lab fee)
Check-in will begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 15; Sunday, July 22 and Monday, Oct. 15 with checkout after breakfast on the final day. Tuition includes all classes and room and board, (6 nights and 17 meals), based upon 2 people per room. Single rooms, if available, will have an additional fee of $250. Classes will be held each morning from 9:15-12:15, with teachers being available as needed throughout the day. Studios are open and available all day, every day. Meals are served at 8 am, 12:30 pm, and 6 pm. (Dinner on the opening night will be at 6:30 pm.)
All classes are available on a first-come basis. To register, please complete the attached form, along with a deposit check of $300 made payable to Amy Rice Blumenthal. Deposits are refundable until June 15, 2018 for Weeks I and II, and Sept. 15 for Week III. Mail to Amy Blumenthal (WAW), at 4015 Foxcroft Rd., Charlotte, NC 28211. Final payments will be due no later than June 15, 2018, for the July classes and Sept. 15 for the October class.

Wildacres is a conference center offering its facilities to nonprofit groups that conduct educational or cultural programs and seminars. It is a true retreat, undisturbed by through traffic or noises of the city. There are 2 lodges, a dining hall, a library and auditorium, a pottery and printmaking studio, as well as multiple classroom spaces. All sleeping rooms have private baths and either two twin beds or one double and one twin bed. Meals are served family style. please visit the web site: www.wildacres.org.
